From website: "...inspire 29,000 29Givers to commit to our 29-Day Giving Challenge by 9/29/09... Changing Lives One Gift at a Time"With more than 4,000 members in 38 countries - the 29 Day Giving Challenge is really, a quite beautiful and simple act to achieve. Whether you have thick pockets, or noodle soup every night for dinner - there is always a way to give... if you reach deep into your "creative pockets."
How it Works:
Give a gift every day for 29 days. Sign up, start any day you want, give a gift every day for 29 days. Record your gifts by posting them on the group page here: 29 Day Giving Challenge, your blog, facebook, twitter, etc.
My Gift Suggestions:
- Own a company? Donate some of your products - to friends, to strangers, whatever!
- Give a silly gift you truly don't want but don't want to throw away (like the gumball machine that
is still in the box in my kitchen
- Give lightly warn clothes to charity organizations
- Buy a homeless person a bagel and a cup of coffee
- Give your grandma flowers from the garden
- Give the dog a bone
- Give time to someone who needs it
- Give a professional nod to someone who could benefit from it
All they are looking for in return is a mere $5,000 for administrative fees. So, if the group reaches their goal of 29,000 givers, that is $0.59 a person. And what is great about helping them raise funds for their commitment to something positive is that it can be counted as one of your daily gifts!
